Gaco Roof Silicone Roof Coating

GacoRoof Silicone

A popular elastomeric work-horse for weatherproofing roofs and walls

Product Information

GacoRoof is a Silicone product that stands up to permanent ponding water without bubbling, peeling or breaking down. GacoRoof Silicone will stay flexible and maintain adhesion, even under permanent ponding water or snow pack.

And, GacoRoof does not require a recoat every 3 to 5 years. Do it once and you’re done.

Roof coatings made with acrylics, urethanes or asphalt soften under the stress of ponding water or snowpack. Eventually, these roof coatings will bubble and peel away from the substrate, leaving your roof vulnerable to leaks, rot, and decay.

However, GacoRoof’s 100% silicone formulation is designed to stand up to whatever the elements dish out. Silicone will withstand areas of ponding water without softening, bubbling or peeling from the substrate.

Acrylic, urethane and asphalt roof coatings decompose and wear away from the stress of harsh sunlight, UV rays, and freeze-thaw cycles.

APPLICATION AND USAGE AMOUNT*

  • For bare, uncoated roofs use 1.5 Gal of CRS Waterproofing Primer per 100 Sq. Ft and let it dry for 48 hours before applying GacoRoof Silicone topcoat.
  • Use 2 Gal per 100 Sq. Ft. of GacoRoof Silicone topcoat on previously primed or coated roofs.*
  1. Prepare surface for GacoRoof Silicone application by pressure washing and cleaning surface.
  2. Reinforce any suspect areas such as seams anddripedge (cap sheet), seams and penetrations (metal), and keyways (shingles) with CRS Mastic, reinforcing fabric, or self-adhesive roofing tape as needed.
  3. Primer surface with the proper high-grade primersuch as CRS Waterproof Primer, NXT GP Primer,NXT Metal Prime, or GacoFlex E5320 2-part Epoxy Primer.
  4. Apply at least 2 coats of GacoRoof Silicone over clean, primered roof surface. Coating surface must be completely dry or problems with adhesion or delaminating may occur.
  5. Use all contents within one day of opening.
*Usage amount will vary depending upon how old or dry the roofs are.
